Some of the best parts about working a bridal show for my cousin's business, Simply Glamorous Designs, is showing my support AND capturing her beautiful work. Owner, Sarah, and her team are a talented and hard working bunch. They assist Sarah in making in her vision become a reality. Everything is on point all the way down to the final details. I swear, nothing is over looked! I'm in awe over this fun, vibrant and innovative tables-cape that was featured at the Wedding Planner and Guide Winter Bridal Show earlier this month. If you missed it, they have two more later in the year and they are always a fantastic time. If you're looking for inspiration, you're sure to find some at one of their shows! Sarah's design is a mix polka dots, rich colors, bling and gold accents, a variation of textures and of course, popcorn! I'm amazed at all the different elements that compliment each other so well when put together. This display proves that any design can be GLAMOROUS! Sarah's vast creativity always comes in handy when she thinks outside box! She is never afraid to set herself apart from others in the industry and I admire that. With the cold winter weather today, I thought a warm November evening session was appropriate to share. I'm biased when it comes to this gallery and absolutely adore as it is of my sister, her boyfriend and their fur babies. This sitting was put together very last minute but turned out to be perfect! Lots of planning isn't always a necessity. I met Cathy, Zach and their canine companions at Token Creek for a mid afternoon session about an hour before sun set. We captured some memorable moments just as the sun was setting behind the trees allowing for some warm, glowing and fun sun flare snaps! Posing these two was easy as they are very much in love. Cathy is stunning no matter what and Zach was such a cooperative sport! When Bentley and Beneli were getting rowdy, Zach stayed collected and helped pose those precious babes. Cathy did a great job with the last minute outfit coordination and even brought their personal living room blanket which added a snug and homey feel. I hope this makes your heart cozy! If this made your heart melt, leave me sweet note in the comment section. <3
Wow...the last few weeks have been crazy busy for me and I'm feeling extra blessed because of that. Now with things winding down a bit, but not for long, I'm finally getting around to blogging this gorgeous session and sharing official sneaks with you all for the first time! You may or may not remember the one photo that was shared on my Facebook page of the playful blanket toss. Either way, it was a favorite! If you do remember it and loved it, you may want to brace yourself for more lifestyle beauties! This was a session like no other! Instead of concentrating on well posed images, we focused on playful, fun, loving and candid ones instead. I'm in awe of this gallery and proud of my work. This session was done in mid October on a sunny evening about an hour and half before sunset. I really wanted that golden light and the sun low enough that we could play in an open field. It was a vision come true! Moving forward in 2018, I'd love to more sessions like this one! I love me a good lifestyle. :) Mama, Kari, did a fantastic job picking out outfits for her family - per usual. With a little help from the sweet Old Navy clerk, she put together a style that was vibrant and coordinated perfectly with the fall colors. Notice how the yellow and blue were colors pulled straight from the girls' leggings and dresses. This ensemble was executed to the finest degree! I'm so giddy about these images and I hope you love them too! <3 That's a wrap! If you love the Jones gallery and this style of session, leave some kind words in the blog comments! <3
I'm in love with so many things about this fall family session. The light, the early October weather, this family, the giggles, those fall colors and the outfit coordination. They were all spot on! I was so happy to capture this family again. It's been far too long!
We met at my favorite area of the DeForest bike path for a thirty minute session. As mentioned in previous blogs, it's my little gem of a location. We took advantage of the tall grass, trees and bridge as I worked my "magic." I tried a few different techniques and pushed my creativity a bit. I need to remind myself to do this more often! I'm so pleased with how this gallery turned out and for trying something out of my comfort zone. It truly paid off. I hope that the awesome Matol family treasures these images for years to come! This laid back, fun loving and sweet bunch is always a joy to work with and I love catching up with them! :) **If you adore these images just as much as I do, leave me a blog comment!** There are some galleries that I have a hard time limiting my edits. This would be one of those galleries. I always give extra edited images to my clients but sometimes I really over due myself. It all depends on the flow of the session. In this case Adelyn was a hoot and a half, so full of energy and multiple expressions! How could I not share her captured personalty with her family?!
I've known Adelyn and her parents since she was about three months old. She used to also attend the in-home childcare center I worked at for seven and half years. I'm so happy that I've stayed in touch with her mom over time. Adelyn and her best friend make a point to trick-or-trick at my house (well mostly their parents make a point but still) and I'll catch them at a get together every once in awhile. It's so nice to have their support AND friendship. This session was taken at Token Creek Park. Again, one of my favorite local locations. We were blessed with warm weather on this early October day and LOTS of sunshine peeking through the greens. I can't say it enough - THIS is my light of choice. I never realized how important light was until I pursued my dream of being a family photographer. We were also blessed with a little fall color mixed with some greenery still. Since this family is like "VIP" to me, I was willing to forego my two outfit rule for a sixty minute session. So, we went with four different looks just for Addy and squeezed them all in one hour. This wasn't a big deal and didn't eat up much time since it was just one individual changing. Mom and dad kept it simple with just one outfit giving us maximum shoot time which equaled more images! Efficiency at it's finest! This session was geared more towards Adelyn with a few family portraits so it worked out perfectly. I kept the props simple using my chalk board with the number "5" on it (Addy recently celebrated her fifth birthday and, yes, I enjoy free-hand chalk design.), a crate decked out with my lace doily, some silk floral, my brown fur, a banner and few contrasting blankets. Mom had the great idea of incorporating a pumpkin into a few photos towards the end of her session which turned out to be so adorable. I hope you dig this segment of Adelyn's gallery and don't forget to leave a sweet note at the end of the blog! :) I am so proud of this gallery. I truly have a passion for newborn photography so I'm excited to see some growth with my skills. Ryder was an absolute dream to work and so were his parents! Mom and dad (Kensey and Ryan) went to the same high school I attended so I've known them for awhile through mutual friends. I feel so special when my hometown friends reach out to me to be their family photographer. It's always an honor and I love catching up with them at the same time.
Ryder's session took place in the morning in my home. I set up a make-shift studio in my kitchen as that is where I get the best light in my home and mornings are always the best time. My space looks organized when my clients arrive and like a tornado went through when they leave but no one has ever seemed to mind! My creative mind just takes over! I've been blessed with so many supportive and understanding clients and Kensey and Ryan weren't short of those qualities at all! Kensey and Ryan were both so laid back to work with and the relaxed energy radiated through Ryder. We were able to multiple set-ups including family portraits. Kensey came with Pinterest inspired ideas in mind and I'm pleased that I was able to bring those to life with my own twist on them. I was excited to incorporate family hobbies into Ryder's images, especially Ryan's deer antlers! I hope they enjoy this beautiful gallery for many years to come! <3 Welcome to world, Ryder! What a loved and lucky little man you are. Sweetness overload! Little Olivia was a workout to capture but well worth it! She was all about showing off her walking skills while Mom and I ran after her. I can' t blame for wanting to wild and free. :) We decided to meet at one of my favorite DeForest locations, an area that opens up to the awesome bike path we have in town that runs from DeForest to Windsor. It's a gem and not far from my home. Since this was a thirty minute session, we only put a bit of this site to good use. It was a very warm evening, so mom and I really got our sweat on! Despite the heat, it turned out to be a fun and memorable session. I even offered an outfit change and incorporated big sister, Charlie, into the mix for some sweet sister photos towards the end of the session. Both girls did a good job considering the heat and the fact that supper time was approaching. I was happy for the golden, evening light and the beautiful end of summer scenery. Olivia sported an adorable onsie with the word "ONE" written in gold on it, along with a coral tutu, matching head band and darling moccasins. Mom brought a burlap banner with gold specks in it while I provided my vintage quilt, wooden crate and "O-N-E" letters. The set-up was so simple and came together wonderfully. For the last segment of the session Charlie and Olivia were dressed with early fall/late summer in mind. Rich, bold and vibrant colors! There attire went great with my vintage inspired afghan. So many silly, candid and beloved moments were captured! Check out some of Olivia's 1 Year gallery along with a combination of fun shots featuring both Charlie and Olivia below! Like what you see? Leave me a sweet comment. :) Enjoy! Pictured from this point on is when Olivia had her outfit change and Charlie joined in on the excitement!
Gosh! Can I just tell you how lucky I am to have met this family two years ago. I have had the honor of capturing their milestones and family love ever since. Loyal clients mean the world to me! I love getting to know my clients and building a relationship with them. Each session goes by much smoother and feels more and more comfortable every time. I'm always determine that this family is captured beautifully. Yet, with every sitting I am wowed all over again!
We were so fortunate to have a beautiful evening for this thirty minute family session. I love when the sun is out and peeking through the trees. The warm and golden ambiance it gives off is, personally, my favorite natural light. Holly (mom) did a fine job styling her family. I love the mix of patterns and contrasting shades of colors. This bunch just POPS right off the background. The fun colors were inspiring and I was excited to put my new colorful blanket to use! I prefer when clients send me photos of their outfits beforehand so I have a better idea of what to bring along. It truly makes a difference and you never know what I have tucked away to share. :) Not only was the styling and weather fantastic but so was the location. We met up at one of my favorites spots, Token Creek Park. It's close to home and offers many unique backdrop opportunities. With all that said, check out a portion of their beautiful gallery and don't forget to leave a sweet note below! I'm thrilled to share this delightful senior with you! This gorgeous gal and the beautiful golden light made for some stunning images. Not only is Taylor alluring but she is also an absolute sweetheart and was a joy to work with. She was so bubbly, fun and easy going. Taylor requested that her beloved pooch was in a few shots and I was happy to do that for her. Other than that, Taylor was up for whatever pose I suggested and was always smiling...except for the few posed serious faces! I wish her nothing but the best in her future and an awesome senior year!
Be prepared for an overload of lovely. Enjoy! :) |
